Why doesn’t my previous device detect my new BlackBerry 10 device?


Corporate, academic, and public networks are usually set up to prevent devices from connecting to each other. If possible, when you switch devices, use a home network that allows connections.

If you’re using a home network to connect your devices, try the following:
  1. Turn off the router and both devices.
  2. Make sure that the router isn't connected to a power source.
  3. Wait 30 seconds.
  4. Turn on the router.
  5. Wait 2 minutes.
  6. Move both devices approximately 6 ft (1.83 m) from the router.
  7. Turn on both devices.
  8. Try running the Device Switch app again.
